A B-BBEE Certificate is provided following a B-BBEE verification process points allocation as per the company’s B-BBEE scorecard. We provide our clients with a refined application and verification process as laid out by the DTI. A B-BBEE certificate is valid for 1 year from date of issue, and can be re-evaluated at any time during that year to achieve a better score. Once your B-BBEE certificate expires, you will need to fill in an application for a new one. An independent and credible B-BBEE certificate is increasingly used to grow South African companies by enabling them to apply for tenders, provide to clients applying preferential procurement, registering for grants and loans, applying for licenses and so forth.
Skills Development for BBBEE
The Skills Development Act aims to expand the knowledge and competencies of the labour force in order to improve productivity and employment. Skills development is one of the most important criteria on a B-BBEE scorecard calculation to comply with, and will ultimately help you add a large number of points to your overall score calculation. It measures a company’s initiatives designed to develop the competencies of black people internally and externally.
BBBEE Assessments and Scorecards
The scorecard for Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE or BEE) has eight rankings, with number one being the highest and most sought after. The calculation of these rankings works differently for different sizes of businesses. The assessment and scorecard system are made up by seven criteria, each with a certain weighting (points) attached to it which make up the final calculation. The elements are: Ownership, Management Control, Employment Equity, Skills Development, Preferential Procurement, Enterprise Development and Social-Economic Development. The purpose of the scorecard is to determine your BBBEE preferential procurement level and to give you a guideline on how to raise your current level.
